Yankee Point Marina in Lancaster, VA has joined the B+G Marine Services family of companies. Yankee Point Marina (37 ̊ 41.636’ N 76 ̊ 29.402’ W) is a full-service boatyard and marina on the Rappahannock river with 101 slips and room for 180 boats in the boatyard. Todd and Kara Patterson, owners of B+G Marine Services in the British Virgin Islands, completed the purchase on 5 May 2022.
Yankee Point can accommodate vessels up to 135 feet including catamarans. The marina offers transient and seasonal berths with a 112-foot service dock for larger vessels and 85-foot fuel dock.
The boatyard follows Virginia Clean Marinas best management practices guidelines and operates a 40-ton TraveLift, and a 24/7 launch ramp with floating dock. There is a 65-foot heated Paint Barn with filtered air intakes and outflow; a fully-equipped Woodshop for wooden boat restoration and building of custom cabinetry; Yanmar Gold dealer Mechanic Shop for repowering and repairs to all makes of gasoline and diesel engines, plumbing and electrical repairs. All repairs are made to ABYC specifications.
Additional amenities include a ship’s store, slip-wide WiFi, pump out, bath house, laundry, dinghy dock, member-only swimming pool and picnic areas with grills. “The Shack” snack bar located pool side will be re-opening in May, and waterfront “Captains Lounge” restaurant above the ship’s store is slated to open mid-June.
Todd, 41 and Kara, 36, have bought Yankee Point Marina from Ken and Karen Knull who have retired after 23 years of ownership. Todd and Kara will be relocating to Lancaster with their two children.
