B&G Marine Services, a yacht management, maintenance and refit company with operations in the British Virgin Islands and Newport, RI, has opened a third service centre in Annapolis, MD.
Based at Bert Jabins Yacht Yard, Paul Geppert, a veteran of the marine industry and former manager at B&G’s BVI operation, will be running the Annapolis base. It will be providing yacht management and refit services in Annapolis and the surrounding communities.
B&G was founded in 1988 by Bill and Georgia Schroer. Originally brought to the British Virgin Islands to run the Freedom Yacht Charter business, they branched out on their own to look after private clients’ yachts.
In 2013, after 20 years across multiple facets of the boat business, Todd Patterson purchased B&G and has since grown the company to provide an expanded range of products and services, including larger refit projects, in-house metal machining/fabrication and welding, a variety of shipwright services, and mechanical and electrical overhauls; Todd also brings to the business considerable sailing and rigging experience.
In 2017, B&G began offering clients continuity of its BVI services by opening its Newport service centre. It is the only full-service BVI yacht management company to be able to do so. The opening in Annapolis allows B&G to expand its refit capabilities and offer their proactive management programs to more clients in Annapolis and surrounding communities.
