Refocus on four key service areas

B+G has closed several lines of business to focus on four core services for boat owners. “Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, we are focusing our expertise where it delivers the greatest value to our clients,” said Todd Patterson, owner of B+G.

The first is yacht management, which includes regular vessel monitoring, routine system checks, reporting on vessel’s condition, and installation, repair and maintenance of various marine systems. The other three related areas are marine mechanical (diesel) services, electrical systems (including solar and lithium), and HVAC and refrigeration.

B+G is the BVI dealer and service centre for Nanni diesel engines, Blue Heron Battery, Yacht Controller systems, and FCI Watermakers. It also provides installation, maintenance and repair for engines and generators from Yanmar, Perkins, Northern Lights, Cummins/Onan and Caterpillar; air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Investment in talent

To deliver on these renewed areas of focus, B+G is investing in staff and actively recruiting additional mechanics and technicians. These additional hires are expected to be in place before the end of the year.

“Building depth across our core disciplines so that our clients can count on consistent, high-quality service is extremely important to me,” Todd added.

B+G was founded in 1988 and bought by Todd Patterson in 2013. Since the purchase B+G has expanded its range of services and products.
